While Las Vegas may be best known for its casinos, there are always plenty of world-class shows taking place. From concerts, to magic shows, to sports, and everything in between, there is something for every taste.
Many acts take up residencies and will perform for months, or even years, but each month there are a number of one off shows that are well worth seeing. Here we will take a look at some of the best shows coming to Las Vegas venues in October 2018.
October 13th – Ozzy Osbourne with Special Guest Stone Sour
Ozzy Osbourne needs no introduction, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy winning singer and songwriter will be stopping in Las Vegas as part of his “No More Tours 2” tour. The title is a reference to his 1992 “No More Tours” and joining him at the MGM Grand Garden Area will be special guest Stone Sour
This tour is widely considered to be Osbourne’s farewell tour and has been produced by Live Nation. Osbourne is celebrating more than 50 years spent performing and this tour is set to continue for a number of years, well beyond 2020. Throughout his career, Osbourne has sold more than 100 million records and many of his greatest hits are sure to feature in this farewell show.
Joining him is the American rock bank Stone Sour. Stone Sour have released six albums, most recently Hydrograd in 2017. They have been nominated for two Grammy Awards, both for Best Metal Performance. They have sold over 2 million records in the US and their addition to this show promises to deliver fans an unforgettable experience.
October 5th & 6th – Drake & Migos
This show is part of the Aubrey & the Three Amigos Tour, a co-headlining tour featuring Canadian rapper Drake and the American hip-hop trio Migos. They will stop in Vegas for two nights at the MGM Grand Garden Area. The tour is to promote Drake’s new album “Scorpion” and comes soon after the two acts appeared together in the video for “Walk It Talk It”.
Drake, who comes from Canada, is arguably one of the most successful rappers around since he rose to fame in 2010. He has released a number of albums and mixtapes and his latest album, Scorpion, contains the singles “God’s Plan” and “Nice For What”, both of which made their debut on the Billboard Hot 100 in the #1 spot. The latest album had over a billion streams in its first week and a third single, “In My Feelings”, reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Over the years Drake has broken nearly every Billboard rap record and he spent a full five years with at least one song on the chart. Prior to Scorpion his last album was “More Life”, it was referred to as a playlist album and was marketed alongside his “OVO Sound” radio show on Apple Music’s Beats 1.
The Migos are a rap trio from Atlanta, Georgia. They have recently released their album, Culture II, and it features Drake on the song “Walk It, Talk It”
October 20th – Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band with Special Guest Boz Scaggs
Over the years Jimmy Buffett has released countless classics such as “Son of a Son of a Sailor”, “Pirate Looking at 40” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise” and his stage performances are unmissable. He will be joining his Coral Reefer Band to take you to “Margaritaville” in this special performance.
Put on your aloha shirt and head to the MGM Grand with all the other Parrotheads for a show that is sure to be packed with humour, island escapism and lots of fun. Grab yourself a margarita on your way to the show, as it is always 5 o’clock somewhere, and then sing along to Buffett’s classic hits.
Complete with songs such as “Too Drunk to Karaoke”, “Something ‘Bout a Boat”, “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes” and “Fins”, the show is sure to be a fantastic experience and one you won’t soon forget.
Joining Buffett for this show will be Boz Scaggs, the singer and songwriter best known for his chart topping albums from the 1970s, his hit singles such as “Lido Shuffle”, and his Grammy award winning “Lowdown” from the album “Silk Degrees”.
Between the two of them, these veteran performers promise to deliver an evening those of a certain age will be talking about for years to come.
October 27th – Phil Collins Not Dead Yet
The legendary performer Phil Collins has come out of retirement and is heading to Vegas late in October. The eight-time Grammy winner will be taking to the MGM Grand stage as part of his Not Dead Yet tour, which begins in early October in Florida.
The tour is to promote his recently released compilation set “Plays Well with Others”. This is Collins first North American tour in 12 years and the first time he has been to the MGM Grand Garden Arena since his Final Farewell Tour performance in August 2004.
This tour, named after his bestselling memoir published in 2016, is set to continue into next year with visits to Australia and New Zealand. While Collins faded from the limelight for a while, he has recently given hope to Genesis fans saying that he would consider reuniting with the band with his son Nic playing drums.
This show is set to feature many of Collins’ greatest hits, and fans of Genesis and Collins’ solo works are sure to have a great evening out.
October 5th – Dropkick Murphys
The Dropkick Murphys are returning to Las Vegas for one night only to perform at the Park Theater at Park MGM.
The performance is to mark the unofficial kickoff of the UFC 229 fight weekend that will feature close to a dozen MMA battles including the lightweight title bout between top-ranked Conor McGregor from Ireland and Russian challenger Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The show comes after the west coast leg of the Dropkick Murphys’ first ever co-headlining tour with Floggin Molly. The band are on tour in support of their album “11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory”, which was released last year and debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200.
Tickets for the show start at $50 and can be bought via the Park MGM website.
October 13th – Sting & Shaggy
After their successful European summer tour, Sting and Shaggy are bringing their joint live show to the MGM Park. The show features songs from their recently released collaborative album 44/876 as well as collaborations on some of their most celebrated hits such as “Every Breath You Take”, “Englishman In New York”, “Message In A Bottle”, “It Wasn’t Me”, “Mr. Boombastic” and “Angel”.
The two veteran performers first joined forces in an LA studio when Shaggy sent Sting a song he was working on, “Don’t Make Me Wait”. Sting immediately liked the catchy tune and the two enjoyed working together so much that they went on to create a full-length album together.
The title of their album references their respective telephone country codes (44 for the UK and 876 for Jamaica), and the album is a tribute to their deep-rooted love for Jamaica, Shaggy’s birthplace and the location where Sting wrote classics such as “Every Breath You Take”.
In this show they are joined by Sting’s players Dominic Miller (guitar), Josh Freese (drums) and Rufus Miller (guitar) as well as Shaggy’s band members Melissa Musique (backing vocals), Gene Noble (backing vocals) and Kevon Webster (keyboards).
The show promises to be a once in a lifetime experience and fans of either artist are sure to have an evening to remember.
October 31st – Cher
Since launching her career in the 1960s as part of Sonny & Cher, the iconic performer has gone on to become a household name to this day. She has been a worldwide superstar for decades and has sold more than 100 million records. Over the years Cher has recorded albums, performed, been in films, had roles on Broadway and television, and even turned her hand to directing.
From 2003 to 2005 she went on a “Farewell Tour” that included 325 shows across the world, was seen by more than three million fans, and is the most successful tour ever by any female artist. Now she is returning with “Classic Cher” in this specially designed production that can only be seen at the Park Theater and The Theater at MGM National Harbor.
Speaking about the show Cher said, “I plan to make this my best show ever. I am extremely excited about both of these new theaters – they are state-of-the-art and beautiful.”
Any fans of the singer should take the chance to see this show before she does really embark on a final farewell tour.
10th to 20th October – Reba, Brooks & Dunn
For the first time ever the entertainers Reba, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn will be joining forces for a limited country music residency in Las Vegas.
Reba has become a household name with a career that has included music, television, film, theatre and more. She has thirty-five #1 singles and she has sold over 56 million albums across the world. Reba has won 15 American Music Awards, 13 Academy of Country Music Awards, 9 People’s Choice Awards, 7 Country Music Association Awards, 2 Grammy Awards, and an ACM Career Achievement Honor.
Joining her are the stars Brooks & Dunn who released their first album in 1991. They have had 23 chart-toppers and became the best-selling due in country music history. Their hits such as “Boot Scootin’ Boogie”, “My Maria”, “Only in America”, and “Believe” have helped them to sell more than 30 million albums.
This run of six concerts is sure to delight all fans of country music and is an opportunity not to be missed.
11th, 12th & 13th October – Paul Shaffer & The Shaf-Shifters
Paul Shaffer, best known for conducting the house band for the late night legend David Letterman, is coming to Caesars Palace for three nights in October with a range of musical delights.
Over the years Shaffer has risen to fame in his own right and he has done a huge amount. He is the musical director and producer of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, he led the band for the “We Are the World” finale of Live Aid, he hosted CBS’s 1994 New Year’s Eve special and far more.
The show is set to include a range of pop, funk and R&B classics and covers mixed with stories from his forty-plus years of working with some of the biggest names in entertainment.
26th October – An Intimate Evening with Anderson Cooper & Andy Cohen
The journalist and late-night host are teaming up for one night in Las Vegas and it is sure to be an evening to remember.
Anderson Cooper has been the host of “Anderson Cooper 360” since 2003 and in many ways has become the face of CNN. His partner for the night, Andy Cohen, is just as successful with his own shows, books and more, and hits such as “The Real Housewives” and “Watch What Happens Live” to his name.
The show is sure to be a barrel of laughs and well worth making a trip to Vegas to see.
27th October – Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera has sold over 43 million records and had five #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Earlier this year she exploded back onto the scene with her first releases in six years and she is now on the road with the Liberation tour, her first tour in a decade. Aguilera is easily one of the most successful female artists of all time, from her earlier songs such as “What a Girl Wants”, to her collaboration with Maroon 5 on “Moves like Jagger”, and now her new releases are bringing in even more fans.
The first single from the new album, “Accelerate” was released in May and early reviews of this tour suggest that it is a show not to be missed. There is a huge demand for tickets to see the iconic singer, so make sure to book soon so that you do not miss out.
3rd, 5th & 6th October – The Moody Blues 50th Anniversary Tour
The Moody Blues are continuing their Days of Future Passed 50th Anniversary Tour at Wynn Las Vegas with a total of nine dates (the first six were in September) in the Encore Theatre.
Led by band members Justin Hayward, John Lodge and Graeme Edge, the show is set to be a commemorative experience in two parts. The first part will include the band’s greatest rock hits and it will be followed by a showcase of the Days of Future Passed album. The album, released in 1967, was a ground-breaking orchestral rock concept album and perhaps what the band is best known for. It is one of the best-selling albums of all time, and loved to this day. They are coming to Vegas having recently been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and anyone who sees this show is sure to understand why.
10th to 20th October – John Fogerty
John Fogerty will be taking to the stage at Wynn six times in October and celebrating American rock with songs from Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Fogerty’s career has spanned more than 50 years and he has millions of fans. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legend will be taking fans on a tour of his Creedence Clearwater Revival classics and the solo hits that made him into one of the most influential musicians of recent times. His music is loved to this day and people of all ages are sure to have a great time.
31st October – Diana Ross
There has been overwhelming demand for Diana Ross to return to the Encore Theater and she will be doing so for nine dates starting at the end of October.
Ross is known as one of the world’s greatest entertainers, she is an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the winner of a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Ross has carefully chosen a number of songs from her huge catalogue specifically for this run of shows and each show will be a celebration of award-winning repertoire.
Many More Shows at Great Vegas Venues
There will be many more fantastic shows to see in Las Vegas throughout October. Planet Hollywood will be hosting Lionel Richie and the Backstreet Boys, at the Mirage you can see Matt Gross, Boyz II Men, Ray Romano and David Spade, Daniel Tosh, Bill Maher and more. The Palms will be hosting Gareth Emery, Russell Peters, Zhu, Blink 182 and Simple Minds, and the list just goes on and on.
