Paul Pogba has said that Manchester United can win the league now that a number of key players have come back from injury.
Over the weekend Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo were all back in action in the game against Newcastle after lengthy periods out of action. While there are still some players recovering from injuries, things are becoming easier for manager Jose Mourinho and Pogba believes that the team can now seriously challenge Manchester City at the top of the table.
Talking to MUTV Pogba said, “To win the league we need all our players. When you have one injured here, one injured there, it doesn’t help. It’s always better to have a full team. Zlatan’s back and Marcos after a long injury. It was hard for them but they kept believing and worked hard to come back. We need them to win the league and we’re really glad they’re here.”
Pogba was Man of the Match in United’s win over Newcastle, he was key to preparing the first goal for Anthony Martial and later scored himself after a clever header from Marcus Rashford.
Mourinho said after the game that Pogba is becoming irreplaceable in midfield with United averaging 3.2 goals a game in the six matches he has started this season.
Pogba added, “Most of last season I had injuries but small ones. You just have to recover well because the Premier League is different to Italy, it’s more intense and you just have to think about recovery, then you have more games. Otherwise, I just feel good, just to come back.”
