Eden Hazard has said that he is ready to return to his best form ahead of an important week for Chelsea.
Hazard scored the winner in Saturday’s match at Bournemouth to make sure that Chelsea didn’t fall further down the league table. He missed the start of the season after undergoing ankle surgery but he has now scored three goals in three games for Chelsea in all competitions.
Chelsea will be playing Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday and then next Sunday host Manchester United in the Premier League. Hazard has said that he fully ready for these difficult matches.
Asked if he is back to full fitness he said, “Yeah for sure, definitely. I’m training hard, the injury is the past. I’m fully ready for the next game, I just want to play. A big week is coming, so it was important also for the confidence to stay high, after the game against Watford, to win at Bournemouth. We are full of confidence now, two big games in Champions League and Premier League. And we are ready to play both.”
After the match at Bournemouth Antonio Conte said that it was vital they win to keep their title hopes alive and Hazard expressed similar sentiments.
“It’s a massive win, massive,” Hazard added. “We should have scored more goals, but we did well in defending together and at the end of the game we had the three points, and that’s the most important thing. At half-time, we just said ‘we need to keep pushing, to keep playing like this, we are playing well and the only problem is that we haven’t scored’.”
