Speaking this week Eden Hazard has said that he thinks Chelsea are capable of defending their Premier League title and could also win the Champions League this season.
Over the summer Chelsea made six first-team signings but missed out on a number of first-choice players and just a few weeks ago coach Antonio Conte warned that September’s gruelling schedule will be extremely tough for the team.
The team will be playing seven matches in 21 days but Hazard believes that they have enough players to get by.
Talking to the Daily Mail he said, “We just want to win as many trophies as possible. For me personally I haven’t won the Champions League so maybe that one would be a little bit more special, but I would prefer us to win everything. I think this year will be no different from the previous years, in the sense that every year it is difficult. But we will do our best and we have got depth in our squad so sometimes maybe one or two players can rest so they are 110 percent for the next competition.”
He went on to praise Conte as one of the best managers in the world and said that they have an excellent relationship.
Meanwhile Diego Costa is still feuding with the club and he has been left out of Chelsea’s Champions League squad. His transfer to Atletico Madrid fell through at the end of last week after what was a tortuous summer for the player after he was told by Conte that he is surplus to requirements at the club.
